I think the period of Season II is from about April 2004 to early October, it's just before Orc Invasion.
EMs started to make their own individual scenario and items on each shard.
The events known as April Events are the most significant case. Almost all EM shards got their own EM rares around that time.
It's just after the start of character transfer service, 25th March(Japan).
I have swum shard to shard getting lured by EM rares. Ah, old gold memories.
