EM Rare - Local Backgrounds

Different Area, Different Service.

Regarding EM, There are two kind of shards, EM shards and Non EM shards of course.
1. EM shards; North American, European, Oceanian shards
2. Non EM shards; Japanese shards, Korean/Formosan shards
i think that there were 4 local EA Divisions. The US, Europe, Japan, Korea. Because there were those 4 official "uo.com"s.
FYI: Now there are 3 new officials by language, English(uoherald.com), Japanese(ultimaonline.jp), and Chinese, not PRC, but Taiwan(ultimaonline.tw)

Official sequence of events lead by EM, Lord British' Return and Departure; You may remember a few of them, LB was back to our land, orcs and lady Minax intrigued against the realm, and travel advisory alert was noticed.
According to these events reports were published through BNN in the beggining of September 2003.(not in BNN archive list now autumn 2007, but they were.)

EM shards

This is basically NA shards case. And other shards in EM shards seemed follow those events.
Why? Because Royal Britannian Guard was organized against the enemy of the realm in all of these shards.
And as a proof of it, tons of Member of the Royal Guard sash were released.
There may be some complexities shard by shard, Siege, Legends, Europa, Drachenfels, and Oceania in paticular.
Anyway this is a successful, significant, and almost the first work of EMs. They produced sashes in shard specific color(some are same though) on their each home shard.

Non EM shards - Japan

While EM shards are under such circumstances, Non EM shards are a bit complicated.
8 Japanese shards including Mugen followed the official scenario and had Royal Guard NPC with 8 different colors representing each shard.
From my experience, i took part in a few event which is compatible of EM shards.
For instance, build a few anti-orc gates between mountains surrounding Britain by tons of materials, had some fight around there, track down Lady Minax behind orcs, etc.
I believe such big events are lead by IGM Team (IGMs, GMs, and helper Seers) instead of EM. We dont know exactly who is in charge of it but our shard have both IGMs and Seers indeed.
Archives in BNN Japan are almost the same, just translated many times, as BNN U.S. along the scenario.
A Significant difference between EM shards and Japanese is that event rare will come out or not.
"Events, but no item" is a long tradition of Japanese shards from around late 1999.
In 1998 they had some original items, but rumor says event team thought event items much harm event procedure, so always-no-item will make better, more fair and essentical event.
Also says that team got angry for some greedy people or reward item lead too many participants to keep logged in in narrow band age, and so on.
The big and almost only three exceptions from around 2000 are AOS launch gift Umbra Robes(In fact these are available in all Asia shards), Creat food event rewards, and UOSE launch gift Waraji and Tabi of Tokuno Isle. These are available for all on Japanese shards.

Non EM shards - Korea and Taiwan

Well, the last three shards, Ariran, Balhae, and Formosa, are managed by EA Korea and not followed official scenario.
It's obvious when you go look there is no official-scenario-event objects like anti-orc gates, Clainin's magical barrier generator in Britain, Lord Blackthorns Coffin in his Castle fellucca, and so on, but you will find their own decorations, event objects, and so on instead. So, these make EAK shards more peculiar, sometimes strange.
The most significant *object* is Han-Ok(spelling?), Korean Style Village.
Han-Ok is a small town set up by Korean GM Team. GM Event take place in there.
The GM Team consists of GM(GM Jinsol), Seers, RMs. It seems they have some RMs, Relationship Moderators, as event operators to serve each some participants.
Unlike Japanese shards, the events end with special reward items almost everytime. It was weekly on three EAK shards for a time.
To make this gray knowledge clearer, let me do a few citing from UOHoC log.
----------
Brannoc - *CitizenKane2* Formosa, Arirang and Balhae do not seem to be having events of the same frequency as other EM supported shards. Are there any plans to improve the situation for events for these shards?
Zilo - That's going to change. We're working with the Korean GM support to implement events on those shards. You should start to see events there, weekly, in the upcoming months.

----------
Brannoc - *wilki24* Question From CitizenKane in Uhall: Is there any news about the lack of EM events on the Formosa shard?
Zilo - Formosa, along with Arirang and Balhae have had less events than the NA and European shards. We are finalizing details to kick off a separate event program for those 3 shards. It will start in August.

----------
August 2004, it's a transition period from Season II to Season III. You see EAK shards event items in list and it proves Zilo's saying is true.
At that moment, EAK shards were eventually allowed to have their events without EM. Is it a part of EM Program? Schedules and items are supervised by GM Zilo?
I'm very curious, but getting harder to know it, because GM Jinsol was fired and the GM Team disbanded. Arirang, Balhae, and Formosa are run by North American staff now.
Guess what caused the drastic change.
